Artist Jami Jennings has recently finished working on a steel heart for
the Hearts in San Francisco project. Completed in mid-September 2004, her painting of
a giant sunflower is rendered in a thick, sensual impasto of pigmented epoxy resins.
The epoxy medium was chosen for the ability to withstand outdoor exposure on steel and provide a similar working and textural quality as her heavily textured oils on board and canvas.
